For me, Denis Villenueve is the most exciting director in the world right now — SICARIO, PRISONERS, ARRIVAL, DUNE I & 2 — and my personal favorite, BLADE RUNNER 2049.
His films are consistently both high art and high entertainment.
Don’t know how many times I’ve seen this, but it gets better with every viewing. A punk horror masterpiece.

Love this article — Gareth Edwards’ MONSTERS really does deserve the overused term “underrated”. It’s amazing film (especially for the small budget) and yes, it’s a good follow-up if you enjoyed THE GORGE.
