The main reason I didn't switch to Unity is the programming language. I want to learn C++ because it's more widely used in AAA game engines compared to other languages.

I found UE5 to be overwhelming. By creating the engine myself, I will gain a thorough understanding of every system involved.

A bit of info on the "why" is in a recent Discord announcement (image attached).

I’m not sure what the engine will evolve into. I can say it will 100% be a 3D game engine. My goal is to learn systems design and develop everything to a very professional standard, like I did with my FiveM project.

In a way, I accidentally made another movement mechanic. If you sprint jump and then mantle/ledge grab, you can get to higher places.

* More line traces. Offsets for trace starts are based on player height and constant spacing.
* Climbable tags working. If an object isn't climbable the line is going to appear

Going to start working on more ray casts to determine where the player should be placed. Might move to 1st person tbh...
