It's always sad when an edition of a book I've taught from many times goes out of print. All the versions of me as a teacher are recorded there. All the sparks of class conversations and starred passages read aloud. The new blank edition is uncertain and lonely.

Why is this horrible for Universities?

Just about everyone who isn't a citizen or green card holder already who's hired for a tenure track faculty position is hired through an H1B and then, after 3-5 years, applies for a green card.

This is literally "No more foreign professors can be hired"

I have never and never will use this program. I found instructions on how to turn off AI features... in the UK. Can anyone confirm that it's possible in the US? We seem to have fewer options for these things than other countries.
