Interaction effects of salience and polarisation on EU support in Greece, Portugal, and Spain.

We find a negative link between EU polarisation
and membership support. In Portugal and Greece, polarisation impacts opinions most when EU issues are salient. We also observe differences regarding country-specific patterns, crises, political strategies, and public opinion.
