Article - Nuffield Politics Research Centre Despite Nigel Farage’s claims, Reform UK are unlikely to pose a significant electoral threat to Labour’s 2024 voters. Using new British Election Study data and analysis of Labour’s vote across constituency type and across time, we show that the vast majority of 2024 Labour voters and those lost since the election to other parties and ‘undecided’ are not predisposed to vote for Reform – and that this is true even among those voters in stronger ‘Leave’ voting areas of the country, as well as most non-voters in 2024.

First thought, was I know I'm tired but I didn't realise I'd slept for 3 years. This is an absolutely crazy way to use and report polling. It should not be getting this kind of priority at this stage in an electoral cycle.

The success of the far right is not only measured in votes and seats but in its impact on rhetoric, policy and ideology. The fact that a (nominally) social democratic head of government with a huge majority choses to say and do this is maybe the biggest success of the far right in Europe yet.

There has been a scary increase of racist and xenophobic verbal and physical attacks, racist graffiti and other forms of xenophobic vandalism in York over the last month, in connection with the Operation Raise the Colour.

This must stop! If you are in York, do join the rally on the 4th October!

Since the flag campaign began, I keep hearing about racist abuse and physical assaults against foreigners in York on a weekly basis.

The fact that Yvette Cooper rushed to endorse this campaign is a historic disgrace for Labour and I doubt it will be easily forgotten.

Today people went around my neighborhood in north east London spray painting St George’s crosses onto people’s homes. Many of these houses have non British people living in them.

This is getting very dark, very quick.

As this thread shows, the far right ideology hasn't become milder- it's as extreme and dangerous as ever.

What has changed is that mainstream parties are now trying to appease far-right supporters with anti-immigrant rhetoric.

This is why there were more than 100k people in London today.
