This exact excerpt has been rattling around my head ever since I heard it. "Moral crumple zone" is a perfect and brutal summary of how AI doesn't become magically ok just because there's a human in the loop. And as AI improves this problem gets worse, not better.

The Y axis is 'quantity of nucleic acids, PMMoV normalized.' The seasonal peak from Dec 2024 through March-April 2025 is around 50k-100k with peaks as high as 240k. It drops back to a baseline <20k the rest of the year. A single site spikes mid-October 2025, with the last sample at 280k and not going down yet. The rest of the sites are still <20k.

WastewaterSCAN is showing an insane spike of norovirus detected at the Little River water reclamation facility, with absolutely nothing at other metro Atlanta sampling sites.

Guessing it's an artifact not a huge outbreak only in a tiny area? #PublicHealth people, any idea what would cause that?

Fortunately it was BS, they're not infected with anything and only one escaped.
