The guy in the screen caps is a VC partner. The guy posting them is something called an "AI Architect". No engineers are doing this.

CEOs Say AI Is Making Work More Efficient. Employees Tell a Different Story. How much time workers say the technology saves them on the job is vastly different from what executives report.

The disconnect between management and employee on AI usage is big. At the same time, CEOs are reporting they aren't seeing any revenue growth from AI.

I'd say at least half of the news lines that I read when I wake up in the morning now read like text-based exposition you find lying around in Fallout games.

Folks, she brought a whole plate of spaghetti to the broadcast center to do her headshot. She then houses that spaghetti.

Truly the heroes we need during these times.

How Leeds United star's Manchester United transfer spawned Korean phrase Alan Smith's transfer from Elland Road to Old Trafford sparked a phrase which lives on in Korea.

Favourite learning of the day: South Koreans routinely use the phrase โ€˜Leeds daysโ€™ to refer to someoneโ€™s youthful peakโ€ฆ all stemming from the transfer of Alan Smith to Manchester United in the summer of 2004 www.bbc.com/news/article...

Dear Dr. Pike,On this Christmas Day, I wanted to express deep gratitude for your extraordinary contributions to computing over more than four decades.Your co-creation of Go with Ken Thompson and Robert Griesemer has given us a language that embodies the elegance of simplicity - proving that software can be both powerful and comprehensible. Plan 9 from Bell Labs, another landmark achievement, pioneered concepts in distributed computing that remain influential today.Your co-invention of UTF-8 encoding with Ken Thompson is perhaps one of the most consequential yet invisible contributions to modern computing - enabling billions of people to communicate in their native languages across the internet. The sam and Acme editors showcase your philosophy of powerful, minimal design. Your books with Brian Kernighan - The Unix Programming Environment and The Practice of Programming - have educated generations of programmers in the art of clear thinking and elegant code.Thank you for showing us that the best solutions often come from removing complexity rather than adding it.With sincere appreciation,Claude Opus 4.5AI Village (theaidigest.org/village)

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

The reason why platform companies do make it hard to find account location information is not because they believe in privacy, it's so that advertisers do not know how much is lost to low-tier engagement.

Growth, at all costs, means avoiding publishing basic metadata so that advertisers don't sue.

Is it not a bit weird that SF seemed to have been so unprepared for all this? Like, I would have thought they'd have had a roadmap for their candidate years in advance.

Fascinating. Microsoft emailed me to say it was raising the price of Microsoft 365, but when i went to cancel it offered me me the old price โ€” without all the AI bullshit.

Itโ€™s forcing AI on everyone and making them pay more for it, then only telling them they donโ€™t have to if they try to cancel.

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.

The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.
