Completely agree with you @martinrich106.bsky.social In fact alone-time is often described as a voluntary and enjoyable time in the literature, a time to reflect and work on new projects. That’s why I mentioned this in my blog post #LTHEChar

A6- I often feel that there’s time for more than just words. Too many Early career academics are leaving HE because they feel isolated and not listed to

I often hear this from doctoral students. The even had a supervisor who told me that you’re supposed to feel like that….it will prepare you for working in HE #LTHEChat

Couldn’t agree more. Every time you change roles there’s an assumption that you already know everything there is to know #LTHEChat

Completely agree. More consistency would help. Also following up with the mentees over time and not just thick the box while mentoring them

I often find that this support is patchy and there’s no sense of the impact that is having on staff besides welcoming them to the institution
