This afternoon, IWGB Game Workers joined together with unions from all over Europe, including @stjv.fr and @csvi-cgt.bsky.social to protest against Rockstar's union busting in Paris - on est là!

We, the workers at Bethesda Games Studios, express our solidarity and support for the developers at Rockstar Games. Last month’s firings in the UK and Canada were a clear and disgusting case of union busting.

It’s also worth pointing out that under UK law, firing someone for involvement in a trade union is ILLEGAL.

The only reason given by Rockstar was a private discord server used by Rockstar employees for…union organising. See image below for reasons something might be unfair dismissal.

Any London based game devs out there, I think this would be an important demo to show up to if you can.

The UK industry has to show Rockstar and Take Two higher ups that union busting will not be tolerated.

This is utterly scandalous and shameful behaviour from Rockstar! The right to unionise should be inalienable for all workers.

That T2 and Rockstar would stoop this low is unconscionable!!

This is the most ruthless act of union busting in the history of the UK games industry. Yesterday, @rockstargames.com unfairly fired over 30 employees for union activity.

We won't back down, and we're not scared - we will fight for every member to be reinstated.

Also constantly analysing design and making little post mortems. I ordered two new notebooks to really get into the weeds of my board game collection! I am excited!

Outside of the full time job as a game designer I try to practice outside of that with whatever design skill I’m not using.

I really enjoy counter systems but I think that’s more because I love rhythm games. I’m not sure I’ve engaged with a good range of hardcore combat systems

I’ve been lucky enough to work in the indie space my entire career so I’ve been able to just make videos talking about the amazing design of other games without an NDA looming over me
