London costs is 35% higher than Milan. UK costs 21% higher than Italy

Its Purchasing power. $1 in the UK doesn't buy the same as $1 in Italy

Not much good having GDP growing less than population is it?. Id rather be Italy with less GDP growth but growing GDP per capita

Not much use if your population is growing faster than GDP, unless you think having a big economy is an objective in itself🤔

Financial journalism in this country is so poor, people now think it's great news that the IMF forecast the UK to have the 2nd fastest GDP growth in the G7.

Sadly, that's not the real story here. A better measure of living standards is GDP/capita.
