I remember a View From the Lane podcast last year bemoaning the squad’s inability to “pick the lock.” Is that the manager or the squad? Not sure I know, but as far as I can tell, it’s REALLY hard to do that in this era’s EPL. Part of why I extend TF some level of grace.

This is the smartest Spurs take I've seen in months. I don't think Frank is an idiot. So what is he optimizing for in how these matches are being played? THAT'S what needs to be figured out.

It seems like we've simultaneously improved the low end of the squad but regressed at the top end. I've been thinking about this piece a lot lately. Who on the squad do the better teams want besides VDV and Cuti still...?
