Graphic featuring a quote by Catherine Kyobutungi, Executive Director at APHRC: “In health research and policy, who leads determines whose knowledge counts and whose priorities shape the agenda. When women lead, accountability and inclusion follow. Global 50/50’s evidence linking women’s leadership to smaller pay gaps confirms what we see in practice: decolonising global health begins with representation, and inclusive leadership builds fairer, more effective systems for all.” The graphic also features a headshot of Catherine, the Global 50/50 logo and the hashtag #ClosingTheGap. An image by Jenny Bautista Media from the This is Gender Collection. In the cinematic black-and-white image, Isa and Tavo, an older couple who both live with disabilities, embrace tenderly in their underwear. Their faces are pressed together in quiet intimacy, eyes closed, smiling, entirely absorbed in each other. A wheelchair sits nearby. The image captures a moment of uninhibited affection.

Quote by Seri Wendoh, International Planned Parenthood Federation Senior Technical Advisor, featured in the 2025 Global Health 50/50 report: “In the face of growing hostility to gender equality and reproductive rights, holding the line is not enough. For organisations working across diverse and often difficult contexts, staying true to our values means rooting our work in the realities of the communities we serve, not in the shifting winds of political convenience. When the space to act narrows, we find new ways to act, to speak, and to stand with those most affected.” At the bottom of the graphic, it reads: “Read more in Holding the Line - 2025 Global Health 50/50 report.”
