Nearly half of the positions are currently vacant, meaning about 200+ people are losing their jobs.
Reduction is a 5% cut of staff and layoffs began this morning, a university spox confirmed, citing financial pressures

L9 NEWS: NICK PYATI, the former prosecutor and Microsoft strategist who launched his campaign yesterday for Congress in Illinois 9, raised $140,000 in 24 hours, his campaign said.
Details aren't clear since the campaign waited until after the Q2 filing deadline to launch.

Also worth noting:
Patrick Hanley, who's running to replace Fine in Springfield, raised over $100k in his initial few months off fundraising...nearly half of what Fine raised for her Congressional seat.
And Bruce Leon, who's yet to officially announce his campaign, is self-funding himself to start with $610,000.

LAURA FINE's Q2 financial report shows the Glenview State Senator raised $262,805, far below her chief competitors Kat Abughazaleh and Daniel Biss.
She stands behind Kat, Biss and Bruce Leon with COH as of right now.
Still early but she has a long way to go $$$ wise
$610k puts him just behind both Daniel Biss and Kat Abughazaleh, who are both reporting around $640-650k in cash on hand as of July 1.
No one else has filed or announced Q2 fundraising yet
