Reporters are not meant to be stenographers for the Pentagon. We all need to support a free and independent press.
On Wednesday, the Pentagon’s press room goes dark by design. Defense Sec. Hegseth just told nearly every outlet covering the DoD: sign this new gag policy or lose access. Authoritarian vibes much? Transparency shouldn’t come with a loyalty oath.
