This is more likely tied to internal rivalries than any serious assessment of threat of U.S. invasion.

The rule of law being eroded… by law enforcement. LAPD has been a department in crisis (filled with bad actors and a highly toxic culture) for many decades. This is the natural fruition of their internal culture.

I find talking about “Democracy” with these folks gets vacuous blinking in response. Talking about how to keep them/help them attain being middle class works with them. The word “reform” also tends to get positive reactions.

I feel really badly for the athletes. It’s not they’re doing. This is gonna be a test of character and moral fortitude for them. When they get hurt, they will actually be people cheering that they got hurt. And many of them are not a fan of you know who.

I wanna know why they have their guns drawn? This is not policing in any sort of rational way. About as unprofessional as you get.

Is this one of the cases the FBI decided not to pursue? This seems like there would be a lot of witnesses. I’d love to know why they didn’t pursue it.

Let’s step back and consider this picture. Even during the 1st (horrible) Trump admin this picture was unthinkable. The objective here is clearly *not* law enforcement. It is to terrorize. To intimidate. To warn away resistance. In short- to normalize authoritarianism.

It’s one of the reasons we don’t have three years to change admins. Lots of lives on the line.

“Active investigation” = they formally opened a file on it… and are not actually working on it.
