Excited for Tech Week to begin for DPMS Theater's Production of "The Outsiders"! It is going to be an amazing show - these kids have been working hard.

If you are in the Northeast Wisconsin area, I hope you can make time to see the show this weekend!

I'm mostly on a social media hiatus for obvious reasons, but stopped in to say hello! Bluesky feels like old Twitter used to - it's a nice place

I feel the opposite. If it is close, I think the difference could be the fair maps. More competitive races for democrats should mean, at least marginally more people voting than might otherwise. When our state is routinely within 1%, it really could be the difference.

Halloween cat. Costume doesn't quite fit anymore, but she's a good sport

I flipping love this game. Had a good run with the joker that makes the stone cards and the one that gives bonus chips for every stone card in the deck. It was great

I still see ads yammering on about inflation and gas prices - they just assume people won't notice I guess

For All Mankind really hit on this vision in Season 4. While a mostly optimistic kind of alternate history show, the subjugation of workers by an interplanetary corporation felt prescient.

Black cats are so pretty, but are just not photogenic whatsoever. Our void always looks cute, but mainly shows up as a blob on camera unless the light hits her fur juuuuust right

Speaking for myself, I grew up in the deep red south in a very religious household. I was very sheltered. Going to college exposed me to tons of people and ideas that I had never encountered before in my life. Slowly, I began to realize that what I was indoctrinated with was utterly wrong.

Maryland Gov. Hogan Takes Extraordinary Steps To Keep Feds From Confiscating COVID Tests The federal government has reportedly been confiscating supplies brought in overseas by state governments, even as they have been left to their own devices to obtain the medical supplies they need.

Reminder of how great things were under Trump:

Republican Gov Larry Hogan of MD had to station armed troops to keep Kushner & the Trump White House from possibly stealing 500,000 COVID-19 tests that MD obtained from South Korea.

Does what we pay teachers matter? A 🧡.

Teachers once took home salaries in line with workers in similar professions. Through the 80s and into the 90s, they paid a small penalty for choosing to teach; in 1993 the average salary of teachers was about 5% lower than that of others with college degrees.
