A apricot peach Rose called Duchess of Cornwall with deep green foliage
A reddish orange rose called hot chocolate
A blush apricot rose called Woolaton old hall gown in the rose house at Brookside flower farm
People ask how we get Rose's so early and with no wind rain damage. We grow some varieties mostly David Austin and Harkness in a rose house. A couple of pictures from yesterday dodging the rain.

A patch of wild strawberries in flower and many strawberries ready to pick.
Up in the woodland edge the wild strawberries are doing very well. Plenty of small, intense balls of flavour to have with clotted cream. The other picture is the first delphium of the season.

A view of middle field towards the orchard in the distance. Two large picnic benches with trays of plants to go into the flowerbeds. In the foreground is a 1950s power barrow used to move compost around the fields.
Cloudless blue skies frame the top field, a hint of buttercup and other wild flowers just starting to come thru.
Weekend planting trays of young plants from the polytunnels. Loads to do and hot days aswell.

The evening sun, just touches the top of the trees growing in a steeply sloped field. A patch of yellow gorse flower contrasts the unsettled grey clouds passing over, with a hint of blue sky in the distance.
After the heavy rain of the last 24 hours, the sun is back. A walk upto the top field in a more wilder part of the farm. #cornwall #flowerfarm

A view of the middle fields hydrangea patch being pruned. A gate in the distance has a Robin sat on it. The sunny, cloudless blue sky gives some warmth on this early spring day.
Pruning the hydrangeas, a bit late. But the spring sunshine makes it worth it. If you look carefully a single Robin sits patiently for me to finish and get any bugs I've unearthed.

We do both as our winters are mild. Some varieties do better and bloom earlier if over winter in the poly tunnel.

A bouquet of seasonal flowers, showing peach roses ,pink Antirrhinum and Rosemary with Hornbeam foliage.
A brown and green female stick insect sat on some blackberry leaves.
Don't fancy tidying up the polytunnels in the rain, so found some pictures from earlier in the summer. One is a bouquet for a birthday and the other is a female stick insect we found living amongst the leaves, rare in the UK

Honey fungus growing on an old apple tree stump
Cycleman growing amongst the leaves on the woodland floor
Trelevans ice cream pot on the edge of a table overlooking part of the roack terrace bank.
One minute sunshine and some pics of cyclaman and fungus in the woodland parts of the farm. Now its raining, so a quick break in a shelter with an ice cream. Wait think suns coming back. Cornish weather at it best.

Tigger one of our shetland sheep stands under a larch looking at us hoping for some sheep food
A sweet gum tree about 4m high, the leaves have turned a dark red from the yellow of early autumn colour.
Doing the rounds of the fields to see what needs doing to prepare for the next season. Short, dull day but still a bit of colour out the in way of a sweet gum, that gone red from the yellow and of course Tigger up in field came to say hi in the hope of food.

Late autumn woodland grass path covered leaves , leading the top field via field gate.
At the edge of the orchard, late autumn with a few apples on the ground. A black cat sits on an ancient non working Oxford Allan scythe watching for mice
