Last post in the #funwithfilters (you should be able to use this tag to see all the posts) - Swirl. The other filters I have are less fun / less suited to outdoor photography. Swirl filter creates a frame around the subject, pulling in dominant colors.

My husband helped me make this using an inexpensive UV filter he got on Amazon and 3M dichroic film

Next up in my series of #funwithfilters (you should be able to use this tag to see all the posts) - Dichroic film filter. I prefer physical effects vs adding something like this afterwards, since you lose some of the inconsistency due to lighting conditions

Here is what it looks like. One thing that's fun to try is using dry-erase markers to color in some of the facets - that creates more of a rainbow look, as long as the center stays clear.

One thing to be careful with this one - direction of light. It is very easy to blow out the entire image regardless of your settings even with a lens hood on.

If zoomed out, it can become a proper kaleidoscope feel with multiplying the one image in focus - here is the same flower side-by-side, one zoomed in and one not

Continuing my series of #funwithfilters (you should be able to use this tag to see all the posts) with a proper Kaleidoscope Filter. It is great for add Interest to photos with a rainbow glow when you zoom-in on the subject.

My friend made me a custom 3D printed filter holder for it that fits on my 24-200mm lens.

My husband picked up running (he decided to train for an eventual marathon) and I end up going with him to the local nature preserve 3x a week. To make it more fun for me, I pulled out some of my fun "Kaleidoscope" inspired filters. First one up - Dichroic Glass

If you want to try it, here are the manual settings. F10, ISO should get you to balanced image at 1/60s for the first picture. Keep ISO and Aperture constant and take 5 more images at 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2. HDR merge in Lightroom and then adjust as needed.
