pro-tip: use activist terminology for everything. example: instead of β€œthey are double parked” say β€œthey are appropriating a public right of way for their own private enjoyment”

funny how cagey some startups are about sharing their board updates with employees when some 22 yr old shithead analyst at a fund with 50 bps will share the deck in a group chat in exchange for one invite to the battery

decentralization is an implementation detail. y'all are why product managers exist fr.

i think it's cool that people are trying, but email had success because it was universal, not because it was decentralized

bluesky should be like wikipedia. a non-profit that barely survives on donations. i need jack to beg me for $10 twice a year.

28.04.2023 17:28 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

it became practically unusable in the years before Google became a dominant figure and was able to throw its weight around. now it is effectively a pay-to-play game. this is the best decentralization delivers with ~unlimited resources.

"if people can make it work" is pretty important, because email was a total tire fire until Google basically figured out how to get rid of spam by centralizing a lot of it. now it's just sort of a mess, and it's the best we can do.
