17.02.2026 18:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No one is advocating that unsupervised LLM-generated reports be sent directly to patients. The point is that with a very low error rate of, say 1%, it's not difficult for radiologists to oversee the process. It would be far easier than having humans adapt clinical radiology reports for patients.

17.02.2026 17:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This article in @forbes.com highlights a growing problem. Should these individuals be including in CT lung cancer screening programs, and if so, how to avoid overdiagnosis?

Really interesting study that we highlighted in The Imaging Wire at bit.ly/3Ms1lB5. It's worth noting that ChatGPT 4o produced no critical errors in summarizing reports for patients. Assuming some oversight by radiologists, this should support more understandable reports for patients.
17.02.2026 15:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The journal did this because they are trying to find a happy medium between how Europeans use decimal points and how Americans use them. Americans use periods, while most Europeans use commas. This particular study originated from Germany and was published in a European journal.
17.02.2026 15:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The study in question analyzed the use of LLMs to write reports for patients. The fact is that patients are getting their own reports, even if they do see their primary doctor, and frequently the reports are confusing because they are written in highly technical language.

The problem with the term "computer-aided diagnosis" is that it's associated with older CAD technology that came out two decades ago. This was not AI-based, and as a result it ended up costing radiologists more time following up on all the false-positive marks.
