I ate a dish a few times in a few different places in Crete. One time it was so good that I asked for the recipe. Iβve been trying to dissect since the first mouthful. A little bit of shellfish stock and roasted red pepper, make the Prawns with Ouzo, dill and cream and absolute delight

Anyone know someone at BT Business that might actually be able to help. The only way to speak to anyone is to contact sales, and they just pass you on to a computer says no engineer. Whole business needs internet to run and all of the sales promises they make are bullshit

The exception to this is the 50 best gastropubs as itβs judged by the industry and professionals, and the standard in the top 100 is insanely good. The food awards Wales though is 50% good places 50% shit.

Come to the conclusion this morning that all these βbestβ lists for restaurants/bars etc have nothing to do with whatβs actually around, all based on votes or who you know or buying a table at the awards dinner. Iβm done with pandering to them and promoting their brands

Youβve got to love the irony of extremist right wingers being killed by even more extreme right wingers for not being extreme enough. Iβd never heard of this Kirk fella before he was shot, but the more I learn about him the better off the world isβ¦until heβs replaced by an even worse version

I full y understand the canβt be bothered to cook. Itβs a task. This dish was always a good go to for us, minimal effort, few ingredients, little washing up and everyone enjoyed it. I always use a good glug of olive oil at the start, more than youβd think is enough. π

We actually had it last night for dinner, with some beef meatballs and a salad on the side (I could do with losing a stone though mind)

If you have enough for the next day, add in some capers, olives, maybe a bit spice, basically a different dish.

Easy tomato sauce | Jamie Oliver recipes
This easy pasta sauce will cook in about the same time it takes to cook some dried pasta in boiling salted water β super quick and tasty.
Weβve been cooking this at home for years, the kids loved it, we keep the left overs for the next day, and you can have anything you want on the side to go with it. Weβve had fish, meat, salads etc and batch cooking something can save loads of time.

I wouldnβt recommend doing that with dairy alternatives, vegetable oil based βcreamβ cant be good for you. Look a Mediterranean cuisine; add some good quality proteins and plenty of slow release carbs and extra virgin olive oil. Nothing wrong with being thin if itβs from a balanced diet

Thank you. I have an uncle that has had dairy and egg allergy, heβs had loads of issues over the years. Veganism has helped him a little bit as he now describes himself as a meat eating vegan. Definitely helped kitchens understand the complexity of his allergy.

We used to use Worcestershire sauce a lot, but have scaled it back for this very reason. Weβve been switching over to Henderson Relish, get a similar result taste wise without the anchovy. Iβve also started asking what people fancy and take it from there rather than deciphering a whole menu
20.08.2025 14:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
With yours, mushroom and anchovy are easy. The question I would ask would be whether youβre allergic to natural citric acid, such as lemon juice, as we use a lot of lemons in our kitchen. Communication is key. Having a list doesnβt help us as we can offer alternatives, especially if itβs gluten

The difficulty comes when someone says they have an allergy to something because they donβt like it, weβve used the question βallergy or preference?a lot. Weβve had people say theyβre allergic to something then see them eating it off anotherβs plate. 99% of the time we can navigate any allergens
20.08.2025 13:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
As a chef/restaurant owner itβs extremely difficult to list everything on a menu. We make nearly everything on site these days (not bread at the minute) so itβs easier for us to speak to someone with allergies, we can easily omit something or if we know what the allergy is.
