from LinkedIn-
Voters have spoken, and there are some things in the food industry that they are likely to get, whether they wanted them or not. I think itโ€™s more likely that they donโ€™t care. Whatever, If the new administration does what it literally campaigned on, you can take a few things to the bank: 1) Rounding up & deporting labor en masse will make it very hard to operate an agribusiness, much more expensive to harvest things from the field & process them through the rest of the supply chain. I expect some of this to begin even before any official immigration actions start because fear is real & people will make decisions to move or to be harder to find. This will drive up costs, and manufacturers will pass these costs on immediately. 2) Broad tariffs will increase costs on many staple imported factors of food production, pretty much immediately, and these will be passed on, just as fast. 3) The FDA will quickly be gutted, either by administration action, or because people elect to just leave, or both. Regulatory uncertainty will cause chaos that CEOโ€™s will have to navigate. More importantly, a gutted agency and fewer scientists will mean less effective food safety regulation and enforcement, and thatโ€™s very likely to lead to far more food borne illness. It will take a while, but not nearly as long as you think. 4) Antitrust scrutiny will nearly disappear, and acquisitions within concentrated industry verticals will intensify. There will be less competition as a result. If you are an M&A banker you probably will like that, but consumers will probably pay higher prices over time. The pace of all this change will likely be very fast, so strap in and get ready. This will be perceived as a political post. Itโ€™s not. Itโ€™s a reality post and most industry CEOโ€™s could have made the same list. I really do hope Iโ€™m wrong here. Weโ€™ll know in the next 3-6 months.

Reply- Iโ€™m sad that the only reason we can have cheaper produce is because we pay immigrant farmers basically nothing to work so hard out in those fields. Put the unskilled and unemployed out there and pay them the same you would pay an immigrant.

Reply- AI will disrupt farming as it is manual labor.

Reply- Rounding up and deporting labor enmasse aint gonna happen. Geez - he had more latinos vote for him than ever before. Fear mongering isn't productive.

OP- It's not fear mongering. The guy literally campaigned on this forever, in very colorful and specific language for months and months, it was a centerpiece of the campaign message. I sincerely hope that you are right about him just not following through on it. But if he does, I think you can take my prediction to the bank, unfortunately.

Reply- hes says alot of stuff for an emotinal response. He said alot of stuff last time he was president that never happened. He's a businessman - he's not going to deport our labor force. That you can take to the bank.

The New Right's Theory of Power is Insane It is simply not true that radical leftists took over all major institutions and use them to crush the right, and mainstream figures should stop being afraid to say so

Of course Elon Musk blames Twitter's cratering ad revenue on ADL, not himself.
The New Right's bedrock myth is most people agree with them, and only leftist-captured institutions show otherwise.
Elon's Twitter was supposed to prove that. It failed. So they expand the conspiracy theory to cover it.
