When he reached the Israeli prison, U.S. human rights defender Chris Smalls was physically assaulted by seven uniformed individuals. They choked him and kicked him in the legs, leaving visible signs of violence on his neck and back.

When his lawyer met with him, Chris was surrounded by six members of Israel’s special police unit. This level of force was not used against other abducted activists.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalitions condemn this violence against Chris and demand accountability for the assault and discriminatory treatment he faced.

For example, it is one thing for the progressive half of public opinion to be disappointed or exasperated with the party that is supposed to represent them in the two party system. It is quite another for that section of the public to regard that party with utter moral revulsion.

18% of this country are bloodthirsty genocidal maniacs who love murdering brown people, so that's concerning. But 55% are anti-genocide and represent a majority of the population and that gives me hope for the future. It's time to defeat the 18%.

I mean he doesn't actually need to do that. This rhetoric will serve that purpose anyway. It further emboldens fascists to turn up outside the accommodation of those seeking asylum, whilst he can maintain a slither of plausible deniability.
