The book “slow seasons - a creative guide to reconnecting with nature the Celtic way” by Rosie Steer. The book is light green with an imprint of leaves, flowers and animals encircling the subtitle. The book is on a faded red table, next to a glass of a pale yellow drink- cold ginger tea. In the background is a fig tree with very few leaves and a sprawling pink Turks cap bush.
I started this book during the season of Imbolc. If you want to know how it’s going, I just skipped over to Samhain. I spent the whole weekend on a grad school assignment but now it’s done and I can relax and reflect on nature, while ignoring weeds.

A paperback copy of the book Hestia by CJ Cherry on a black table next to a small wine glass with a honey colored drink.
Last night of vacation and I’m starting a new book that I picked up at a used bookstore right before my trip. I’ve got a folded torn up tourist map for a bookmark and a complimentary nightcap from the hotel to go with it!

A photograph of the marble bust of the Philosopher Epicurus. The plaque below is in Danish and English. The English text reads “The Philosopher Epicurus

Roman copy of a Greek original from 3rd century BCE

I saw an old friend of Lucretius today at the Carlsberg Glypotek in Copenhagen! @adapalmer.bsky.social

The book Ebony gate (the phoenix hoard, 1) by Julia Vee and Ken Bebelle, on a black table (Danish modern Furniture) next to a glass of honey colored liquid that is very sweet and alcoholic. Also a glass of water on the table.
Vacation reading! I started this awesome book right before I left but I don’t regret packing a hardback book to haul around Europe! Nothing like getting back from a long day of touristing to have a nightcap and read about more action. @kenbebelle.bsky.social @juliavee.bsky.social

A faded red table with a white mug of tea with green letters and a lantern, next to the book The sky on fire, by Jenn Lyons. The table has some dried leaves scattered around. The sun is casting shadows from the overhead trees.
Beautiful weather today! It’s still hot but some of the humidity is missing. And I’m starting a new book! @jennlyons.bsky.social

I should maybe clarify I only just started this book and the blurb on the back doesn’t really seem spooky but it does mention spirits. And women immigrants struggling to adapt to a new life. Which is also grabbing my interest. Next week I’ll find a spookier spooky book

An advance reader copy of Gilded Spirits by Amrit Kallar, next to a mug of tea. The mug is light blue with kitty cats. The items are on a faded red plastic table in front of a mess of Turks cap bushes and a fig tree.
Happy October! I’m starting the month with a new spooky book! This is another one I got at ALA, signed by the author! I have been looking forward to it for a while.

I absolutely love reading marginalia in old books, especially in incunabula and early printed books.

A book, an orange mug of milky tea, and a small ripe fig that fell off the fig tree on a faded red plastic table in front of a mass of overgrown Turks cap bushes that have climbed all over the fig tree.
The weather has cooled off and I am back in my reading nook. This weekend I am reading an advance reader copy of The Salvage, which involves a shipwreck, underwater archaeology, and Scotland! (And many other themes!) Half way through and it is getting more mysterious and spooky with each chapter!

An oatmeal cookie, a cup of black tea, and the book “The Memory Hunters” by Mia Tsai on a white round table.
It’s too hot to go outside so here is a photo of my lunch break reading time at work this week. It doesn’t have plants or nature but on the plus side I can recommend the book to all of my coworkers! @itsamia.bsky.social

A pile of books on a glass table with a tin of “murder on the orient express” tea and an R2D2 travel mug. Next to a brownish upholstered arm chair in a corner of a hotel room, in front of a curtained window.
My reading spot for the weekend at @armadillocon.bsky.social . Not that I expect I will have time to hide in my room and read but I like to be prepared.

A photo of a bench swing with some leaves, a mug of tea, and the book “the savage detectives” by Roberto Bolano propped up against the back of the bench.
But the reality is that it’s August and I’m not going to last 10 minutes before I retreat indoors to read on the couch with air conditioning.

I built a reading book in my back yard because I like being outdoors and wanted to create a feeling of nature space at my house in the city. Then when I joined Bluesky I started taking pictures of my books in my reading space to make an online presence of cozy reading nature vibes.

An advanced readers copy of the book The Villa, once beloved, by Victor Mancini with a not final yellow cover. The book is on a wooden bench next to a white mug filled with tea. In the background there are many overgrown garden plants and weeds.
Finally have time to sit down in my very overgrown garden to read one of the ARCs I got from ALA this year! And I am enjoying the suspense so far @victormanibo.com

A Birds Eye view of a classic black and brown tabby kitten sleeping on tan carpet.
With a busy summer of family trips, work, graduate classes, I haven’t had time to visit my reading swing with new books. Also I started fostering some kittens. Meet Carolina reaper, a sweet and spicy little kitten. Available for adoption.

Two books: “A pirates life for tea” and “can’t spell treason without tea” by Rebecca Thorne. On top of a table covered by a white tea towel with a blue outline map of England, blue text of “Northumbria partially visible. Behind them is a large mug of tea. Overgrown Turks cap plant leaves and a fig tree are in the background.
Sometimes I judge a book by the cover. Also the title. When I saw “Tea” and “Pirates” with backgrounds of book shops and sailing ships I couldn’t resist and so far I have no regrets. I just finished treason and I am ready to dive into pirates. @rebeccathorne.bsky.social

A tabletop with four books stacked: rule, a wizard of earthsea, the viscount of St Albans, and the Canterbury murders. Next to the books are a mug of pale herbal tea and five multicoloured macarons. Raspberry, lemon, chocolate, caramel, and pistachio.
Mothers Day in the US. It means different things for many people but for me it is peace and quiet outside, drinking ginger tea on my bench swing while enjoying fancy macarons and working on the TBR. The next few weeks involve revolution, fantasy, romance, and possibly a murder.

A plastic table with a plate of toast and cheese, a large mug of tea, a citronella candle to keep bugs away, and the book Rule by Rowenna Miller.
It’s cloudy and I hope it doesn’t rain because I have tea, toast, cheese, and another book. I’m trying to finish a series that I started over a year ago, and this one is fun because it involves sewing and magic! @rowennam.bsky.social

The mug says being a parent is never easy. It’s like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire. And the road is on fire. SO YOU’RE ON FIRE. And everything is on fire. But other than that it’s pretty easy. Also on the table is a citronella candle, the book Piratica, and a glass of water. Gotta stay hydrated.
I have a rare day off on a Tuesday! Got some much needed weeding done, now to have a relaxing read in the garden with my new mug. And since the weather has warmed up the mosquitoes want to join me.
