Why are the streets empty? Where are the kids? The tearaways? The dreamers? They are simply indoors playing the entire MYST series, yes even the bad ones.

I write middle-grade whodunnits, so you might want to dismiss my opinion out of hand. But I think cosy games/crime sometimes miss the fact that blankets are only cosy when it's cold outside. A world without conflict / a story without stakes isn't cosy, it's just safe.

Parents, please check your kids’ candy this Halloween. I’ve just found an ancient metal whistle with the inscription “QUIS EST ISTE QUI VENIT" inside a Snickers bar. I blew it and heard a note of infinite distance, and now I’m haunted by a figure in pale, fluttering draperies. Be safe.

“Revenants and Revenant hunters are forced to work together and travel back in time to prevent the end of the world” Yeah ok you have my attention, this seems more interesting then the first one

2) It’s slightly less gothic and derivative of Dark Souls and more sci fi and apocalyptic, and overall looks higher budget and more visually interesting
3) more weapon variety and customization, like dual wielding

I couldn’t get into Code Vein despite liking the vibes and wanting to play an action game. But Code Vein 2 is coming out in January and
1) it is NOT a direct sequel and has a new story and world so I can play it standalone

Haha totally, I’m being harsh I know but I was def expecting something just as good. Chishiya’s absence really hit, same with the others like An and Kuina too, because none of the characters they introduced this time were nearly as strong. Nice to see them at the end, but still

As an enormous fan of s1 and 2, s3 was so insultingly bad that I’m like going through the stages of grief 😭 the plot holes, the Mia characterization. The genuinely deep themes about “what it means to live” are completely absent

In the same situation now, I’ve genuinely enjoyed the characters and emotional moments of the story in the past but 2.2 was so incompetent I might have to drop it as well. Like it was all about the long teased Obol Squad but Soldier 11 must’ve had like two lines of dialogue total. Was crashing out

Never agreed with a thread more in my entire life, the sudden whiplash in storytelling and plot quality from 2.0 compared to before is legit baffling. But then 2.1 was legitimately some of the best so far, but THEN 2.2 was insultingly bad, where is the consistency
