I’m pretty sure it’s not anti gay or taking the piss out of gay people - I thought it was about taking too many drugs and seeing fairies lol maybe I’m naive, I’ll look it up!
I love it - it reminds me of hanging out with proper West Country, dank hippies in my teens

Black Sabbath - War Pigs
YouTube video by Brian Martens Music Black Sabbath - War Pigs

Working through Sabbath's unfiltered works.

"War Pigs" is one of the few songs I could do an essay on. It's a timeless track, perfectly encapsulating the dread, frustration, pointlessness and destruction of war. But, like, duh. You knew that because you don't have shit music taste. Right? #blutoid

Paranoid is an album with zero filler. It’s incredible. War Pigs is such a great song. I love the verse at the end where all the war pigs are entered into Hell mwhaha so satisfying

Good question about whether you would have the same connection! I enjoy some things now which I found really annoying as a child, such as E Nesbit’s novels lol

Went to visit the beautiful Rococo Garden in the Cotswolds this morning, and found there an interesting maze. It takes the shape of the number 250, which commemorates the age of the garden(!).

That’s a really good one! I’m gearing up to the moment I can share videogames with my eldest son (he’s nearly five). I’m going to go with the snes mini as his entry point, with Super Mario and so on :) but this will come soon! It’s such an accessible game

Is this only an issue with new controllers. I don’t remember having drifting issues with ps2/xbox 360 etc

Travelling about the South West of England and Wales this last week so not much gaming - little bit of Etrian Odyssey IV, which is fantastic! Still reading Ginzburg’s Family Lexicon too, which is also really fun to read

The map of The Great Desert by Pauline Baynes for A Horse and his Boy. Unlike other fictional maps, I think a desert needs to be suitably barren of landmarks as it’s meant to be a featureless expanse. I like spareness of illustrations here, and how tiny they are, it gives a real sense scale! 🌞

lol zsnes was so ubiquitous amongst my friends when I was growing up, I don’t think I actually knew anyone with a console. Tbf it was very out of date at the time; PS1 / N64/ Saturn were the main consoles of interest - none of which I was allowed :(
