Listen closely as Carl Sagan explains how regular people can create change!

I am waiting for the collected poetry of wales, myself. It's bound to be profound, or, dare I say, deep ๐Ÿคฃ

One day, I suppose that might be possible. But it would be a monumental affair, changing our perspective forever. I just hope we don't end up in the "planet of the apes" scenario.

I couldn't agree more. And language history is a fascinating field. Seeing a world evolve and change through history, and how that affects people's ability to use it, and their own influence on it, its only one of the many reasons I love philology.

With Turkish I am very familiar. My people were under Ottoman rule for 450 years, so quite a lot of their words seeped inevitably into Serbian vocabulary. Attraction to learning languages is a great driving force to have!

Hey, that fact alone is cool! You had access to 4 alternate systems of expression and understanding. That's a huge deal, fluent or not

20.07.2025 00:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Oh yes. Two different language codes give me two often vastly different perspectives and multiple ways to approach and analyze. I cannot recommend learning languages enough. Learning a third code would further enhance my perception, understanding and my art as well

As for the book: thank you! It was a major success personally, despite the fact that I did not dedicate too much of my time into promoting, so I barely sold anything. But, it still holds. A special place in my heart. I hope this won't be the only collection I made

I could try French eventually, I agree. I applaud you for Cyrillic. Usually, it looks confusing, but it's rather fun actually. I would, however, focus on practicing my Spanish and Japanese, probably.

19.07.2025 23:10 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yes. I don't have much time for myself, and translation may take some time to be done just right. I have a published book in Serbian, a poetry collection called The Last Walk of V. Wolf, but I think I may have enough material for a book in English too. Kudos for French, I could never

I write in both my native tongue and in English. I'm an English major (second language Spanish, but it's very rusty), so it's equally easy for me to express myself in both Serbian and English. There are some natural challenges, of course, but I live translating.

Oh thank you! It's not that big of a deal, really. I had pretty good college professors, my wife is a great poet too, and I like to read a lot is all. But yes, music is the part of it all, I agree

18.07.2025 03:57 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Best of luck! I think you will enjoy the exercise. Both forms naturally go together, only the tanka is denser, while the sonnet asks for more rhythm

18.07.2025 03:21 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Give it a go when you have the time. Think of like sonnet, with the final cuplet either driving the point down, or turning tables entirely
