I finally got Crisps (and Dickory along with a few other games I purchased) from @dnlnwmn.bsky.social and I immediately know Crisps is going to be a top list game for 2026. Can't get enough.

I had to check if there was really a film about her. Turns out there is but I wonder if IMDB result on Google knows something we don't 🤔

Really cool. I need a buddycon like that. I could only bring four of the games: 3 Tricky Pigs, Piñatas, Matchstick Tycoon, and Mystery Tricks.

All games I really like except I haven't tried Mystery Tricks. The memory/card counting aspect of it doesn't sound too exciting.

I came here to mention Button Shy as well. I had surgery in November. Games I had in the hospital: Button Shy Games Simply Solo series (here I am playing A Nice Cuppa on a hospital bed table), A Carnivore Did It, and Formidable Farm.

After I got home I played a lot of A Gentle Rain during recovery.

I now got a chance to play Marvel United. Not as painted and beautiful as yours but it's going to be fun to try out the game.

Yes! They're quite fun. Short puzzles each day until holiday stress takes over and then you feel bad when you have to finish it "next year" (my wife and I still have 2 days left of the 2025 calendar that we aim to finish this month).

How has it been going so far?

This interest shift is largely thanks to you, people talking about you, Hollandspiele, and your very interesting videos so that's why I'm interested. My currently preferred games are mostly shorter games with simpler rules, preferably playable solo or for two people.

I've recently moved (matured?) my interests in the board game hobby to smaller/indie publishers and designers. Where would you recommend I take my first steps?

I was expecting something similar to Clank where I'd go: "Alright, enough exploring. Now I'll race to the end".

That's why I am so interested to understand the thought behind the design because it didn't click but I may need to approach the game with a different mindset.

I don't think I like efficiency puzzles based on chance. I was expecting a cozy replayability where I always reach the same objective but make strategic decisions based on the dice (e.g. "I'll try this route now but I know I'll get a lower end game bonus but hopefully a higher end game score")

It's clever but left me wanting more. I want to explore each part more but with a nicer end game than the very tight X rounds.

For example instead of a hard limit for the number of rounds, always finish the objective but get a bonus for being faster (e.g. 1-8=+20, 9-10=+10, 11-12=+5, more=0)

Just gave myself a holiday gift, a subscription to @senetmagazine.bsky.social I've been meaning to get for a long time (since I found out about Senet magazine about a year ago).
