I actually found this thread reassuring.

My adult children and many of my friends speak in such apocalyptic terms these days.

Sometimes we all need to step back and have some perspective.

Just as the Right labels anything they dislike as "communism", "socialism", or "Marxism".
They throw these out to scare people who have no understanding of their true meaning.
