Call out for case studies: I am looking to talk to disabled people who have experienced access issues on any part of the TFL rail network. (And that can include people who have taken up an Equality Act claim.) For a @londonspy.bsky.social piece. #JournoRequest

Niiiice, I long to be able to wear hand knits for more than 10mins without being too hot. Think I live in the wrong place really.

In the foreground a deep sea wall covered in lichen, then the sea with some large rocks is still and greeny blue. The top of the photo shows heavy grey and white clouds with a sliver of light along the horizon.

It was low yesterday too, but today it’s like we’re actually living in it 🫣

Serious Christmas cloud cover in Torbados this year; Xmas Eve was beautiful but today is like living in the cloud. Out walking for an hour and my hair looks like I’ve just washed it. Hoping everyone else’s weather is clearer/brighter.

Yeh I’d never heard of your discipline until reading @lucygobag.bsky.social’s book, but strong parallels with how I see bereaved ppl treated when β€˜systems’ fail them.

Also parallels to flawed fight/remission narratives in cancer care. So much harm from fear of nuance and messy reality/grief.

Here’s a story about how researching the racist origins of Jingle Bells helped me uncover some antique family drama.

Quiz: what is jingle bells about?

A) Christmas
B) Street racing
C) Picking up women
D) A vehicle accident?

Thanks for sharing @lucygobag.bsky.social I wonder whether the discourse of recovery is about making people (possibly mostly the helpers/system/society) feel able to sweep things aside and 'move on'. Support is so often time limited to a 'process' but like any grief the reality is much more nebulous

Usually somewhere around the 500 mark, some years less, some more. That’s according to Chief Coroner Annual Report and/or number uploaded to judiciary website, but we know not all get uploaded. A big year this year.

Just read my 693rd Prevention of Future Deaths Report this year. Only:

16 relate to learning disabled people (who aren't autistic)
3 relate to learning disabled, autistic people
16 relate to autistic people (without a learning disability)

5% of all PFDs, feels way too low to me #NotFullyHuman

Thanks for re-sharing @alexadwilson.bsky.social few things bring more joy (to my dark heart at least) than military bands breaking out into other music. This is fab.

(When my BIL's regiment got Freedom of Chepstow the band played Lady Gaga and its still my fave rendition).

David Lodge's inquest finished on Friday, coroner found he died from natural causes contributed to by neglect at Hull Royal Infirmary.
