It's actually a fantastic game. I vastly prefer its gameplay quirks to 8's, in fact.

But compared to the amount of content in 8 (aka literally the SSBU of MK games) it just feels very underbaked

PLA is like an 8/10 and ZA is like a 6 or a 5.

I think I can confidently say I liked Legends Arceus a lot more, but I also think that's the best Pokemon game of the last decade. I'm not quite done with it, but Legends ZA is still overall fun to play and solid in some areas. It's just its 2 biggest downsides REALLY REALLY suck.

I don't think I've ever resented the story/plot/characters of a Pokémon game more than this one. I actually hate EVERYONE (except AZ) in this game that has a name and more than 5 lines of dialogue.

Legends ZA is deliberately not using voice acting in a way that makes it feel like that one scene in Sword and Shield everyone made fun of except the entire game is like that.

Destiny only ever had this problem at one point in its life and it was the launch of Destiny 2 and that following year. That was the main reason the game sucked so bad at that time and I still vehemently disagree that any time - even now with Edge of Fate - was a worse time to be playing Destiny.

It has other problems like loot pool dilution and the fact that the game power crept itself into oblivion a year and a half ago

I guess what I mean is I don't find stat sticks to be interesting in loot chases. Borderlands loot has GIMMICKS but they're still glorified stat sticks

Destiny is fucking fantastic at subverting this issue and it's why its loot game is leagues better than any other game
