It's hard to get photos of the vultures because they all love the camera a bit too much! As soon as they see it, all you end up with is a bunch of very up close blur-snoots. 🪶

scotty really saw the relief i was feeling no longer having to deal with binx's chronic health issues now that he's passed and decided to remind me that hes ALSO a senior cat even though he still acts like hes not a day over 5. he'll be 12 in a couple months. :/

400$ of yesterdays vet bill was due to a last minute echocardiogram because he had a heart murmur on his routine vet exam- from what i was told it seems to be due to a blockage thats not clinically significant Right Now but he'll need a recheck in 9 months... MAN

on top of this he now has a dental exam + tooth extraction next friday that will be bare minimum 500$ not including the cost of the extractions (because they dont know yet how many he'll need pulled) which also Isnt Ideal but i can weather it...

yknow i cannot even be mad that a day after i posted this i had to pay a 900$ vet bill for scotty i was really tempting fate here. </3

i expect much like last year things will go catastrophically wrong at one point or another, but hopefully sandwiched between the small positives…

my 3-year anniversary of starting testosterone is on friday, i start my next zoo internship on sunday, i got an Official ocd diagnosis earlier this month and am back on meds for the first time in like 7 years, i started keeping pet isopods this month… year is tentatively off to a good start for me

the "esc" key on a keyboard is a holdover from early-'90s personal computers. on some models it would dispense a can of escargot out of one of the unused drive bays. they put it in the corner so you wouldn't press it by accident because you only got three of them. i pushed it once and got grounded
