The offensive flow comes to a standstill every time he backs down his defender with a back to the basket dribble only to then take a midrange fall away jumper at the shot clock. That’s not going to unlock this team’s offensive potential.

Totally agree. Up to this point, Chauncey has hung his hat on defense but we are definitely going to see some “experiments” this season.

I agree our challenge will be offense. Not because we don’t have any but because we are wildly inconsistent.

I think they will finish 9th because at least two of the teams “better” than them will have an older star have a serious injury that will impact that team’s season. I also think we will steal a few games because teams won’t take us seriously.

All in on the future.

No one in Portland actually cares if he ever plays another game. The only thing that matters is that he retires in a Trail Blazers jersey. That alone will juice season ticket sales and jersey sales so it’s easily a profitable move. If he can mentor the kids as well that’s just icing on the cake.
