It's my birthday today! Happy birthday to me. I'm old and just going to take it easy.

Finally got caught up on the Locked Tomb series and the wait for the next book is going to kill me.

I celebrated the new year in Animal Crossing because my toddler thinks it's the coolest game ever. I bet your ball drop didn't have talking raccoons.

I am so anti new year party that I have fled three and a half hours to a small hotel solely so I don't have to hear the neighbors set off fireworks in the street outside my house. If the ball drops, don't tell me.

people tell you the best thing about having written a book is getting to call yourself a published author or sharing your vision with the world but really the best thing about having written a book is that you don't have to write it anymore

My toddler knows I love him, because there is no doubt in his tiny mind that a single flap of his little hands means Mommy will give him half her In and Out cheeseburger. After he'd already eaten an entire Costco hotdog.

If you want to destroy the world after hanging out with family or inlaws this holiday season, I highly recommend fucking off into the middle of nowhere and playing in the dirt with a toddler. It does wonders.
