Note describing the slide collection of Charles Darwin barnacles at the University of Cambridge Museum of Zoology. It reads: "These slides are arranged systematically in accordance with the order of species in the two volumes of Darwin's Monograph of the Cirripedia, 1851-1854., the page number being given at the bottom of each slide. The printed number (also written at the top of each slide) is the number in Darwin's manuscript catalogue. This catalogue, in Darwin's own handwritting, is in the Museum of Zoology, History of the Collection, Vol. III, 1892-97. No. 454". Photo by Javier Luque

As the Curator of crustaceans & non-insect arthropods at Cambridge University Museum of Zoology, is a pleasure & honour to study & care for our collections, including #CharlesDarwin 's famous barnacle slides from his landmark ‘Monograph of the Cirripedia’ (1851-1844). Happy #InternationalMuseumDay!🦀
