Islington branch of Palestine Solidarity Campaign, fighting for a free & liberated Palestine π΅πΈ π https://linktr.ee/islingtonpsc
Today I stood with peace activists outside Westminster Magistrates Court, in solidarity with those who have been arrested for protesting against genocide.
The proscription of Palestine Action is truly shameful. We must defend the right to demonstrate!
They need our support to stand against the repression and to continue to fight for the liberation of Palestine and an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people. β€οΈβπ₯

Sainsburyβs markets itself as a brand that delivers βgood food for all of usβ.
But stocking products from companies directly involved in Israelβs occupation and apartheid regime theyβre in direct contradiction with their values.

The UK government has a legal obligation to protect its citizens and vessels. Unlike Spain and Italy, who are providing protection for their nationals, the UK has done nothing.
Set against one of the twentieth centuryβs most intractable geopolitical issues, Mornings in Jenin is a deeply human novel of history, identity, friendship, love, terrorism, surrender, courage, and hope. Its power forces us to take a fresh look at one of the defining political moments of our lifetime

Photo with Keir Starmer and copy that reads: RECOGNITION OF A PALESTINIAN STATE IS A HOLLOW GESTURE WITHOUT MEANINGFUL ACTION TO END ISRAEL'S GENOCIDE, APARTHEID & OCCUPATION
Recognition is no doubt significant but it will be a hollow gesture if the UK does not also seek to end Israel's genocide, illegal occupation, and system of apartheid against the Palestinian people.

Italy was on strike in solidarity with Palestinians last Monday.
Hundreds of thousands demonstrated blocking roads, ports & railway stations. In Rome, many drivers found themselves stuck in traffic β & were happy about it, saluting demonstrators & condemning Israelβs genocide against Palestinians.
Victory!
People power stops Italyβs energy giant and genocide-profiteer Eni from exporting oil to Israel!
We welcome the councilβs commitments but we are urgently pushing them to do more to take meaningful steps to cut financial ties with Israel.

We stood along upper street with our placards, banners and flags, in solidarity with Palestine. We paid respect to the 680,000 souls who have been taken, martyred by the Israeli terrorist state, allowed to happen with the agreement of our government.

This petition was backed by 2,300+ residents who expressed grave concerns about our local governmentβs financial connections to companies which are entangled in the subjugation of Palestinian people, & directly linked to the genocide in Gaza. One year on-how has Islington Council responded?

Work toward divesting pension funds from all companies complicit in war crimes
End their relationship with Barclays

We also had a range of goodies on sale, from @/cafemetron19
