Today I stood with peace activists outside Westminster Magistrates Court, in solidarity with those who have been arrested for protesting against genocide.

The proscription of Palestine Action is truly shameful. We must defend the right to demonstrate!

They need our support to stand against the repression and to continue to fight for the liberation of Palestine and an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people. ❤️‍🔥

Italy was on strike in solidarity with Palestinians last Monday.
Hundreds of thousands demonstrated blocking roads, ports & railway stations. In Rome, many drivers found themselves stuck in traffic — & were happy about it, saluting demonstrators & condemning Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.

We welcome the council’s commitments but we are urgently pushing them to do more to take meaningful steps to cut financial ties with Israel.

At the full council meeting, Islington Independents councillor Ilkay’s proposed motion was passed unanimously. It called for
• a complete ceasefire
• ⁠a full arms embargo

We stood along upper street with our placards, banners and flags, in solidarity with Palestine. We paid respect to the 680,000 souls who have been taken, martyred by the Israeli terrorist state, allowed to happen with the agreement of our government.

Thank you everyone who joined us once again outside Islington Town Hall. We marked a year since we submitted our divestment petition, and with 2 years of genocide nearing, and the UN Commission of Inquiry declare genocide in Gaza Islington Council MUST divest.

Today we joined over 100+ groups protesting the shameful DSEI-one of the world’s largest arms fair.

100s of war criminals in suits were in attendance & we gave them the welcome they deserved.The police protected the merchants of death & showed us once again they don’t keep us safe, we keep us safe.

🕯️On Thursday 18th September at 6pm we will gather outside of Islington Town Hall, to demonstrate to our council that our concern has not faltered, and that we will continue to scrutinise the actions (or lack thereof) that are taken, as is our responsibility as conscientious constituents.

This petition was backed by 2,300+ residents who expressed grave concerns about our local government’s financial connections to companies which are entangled in the subjugation of Palestinian people, & directly linked to the genocide in Gaza. One year on-how has Islington Council responded?

Review their procurement policies to exclude companies violating human rights

The seven Defend Our Juries key spokespeople have been released after over two days in custody.
