Itโs Roger Mooreโs birthday
Hereโs a classic anecdote about the great man to cheer you up on a damp Tuesday.
Very excited for this -- as I am the launch! ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

"You needn't take it any further, sir. You've proved to me that all this comedy is wrong, wrong and terribly wrong".

EVIL EDNA (1981): The antagonist on BBC animated kid's show Willo The Wisp (Kenneth Williams having a ball on voice-over duties). A nasty witch in the form of a CRT telly, complete with aerials, metal legs, and, presumably, a 625-line face. Many a female teacher was given the nickname 'Evil Edna'.

Robert Redford in The Sting
Robert Redford in All The Presidentโs Men
Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor
Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Robert Redford was my favorite, itโs hard to process that he is gone. His performances made more movies beloved to me than anyone else, Iโd take The Sting over any other film for flawless perfection. We donโt expect famous people to also be good people but he was. He belongs to the ages

And I was like hell yeah thatโs awesome, and then in the 8th slide โher father gave her $4 million to open a boutiqueโ ah there it is

Aquarius.
Trust Britain to meet the Bang Bus with not moral panic but clerical pedantry, some pallid council drone, worsted trousers shiny with duty, googling a pornstar at taxpayer expense, then loftily ruling her vehicle โa vanโ. Our bureaucracy: prurient, petty, and perversely glorious.

OST = Original SoundTrack!
Top line-up! The Simon Boswell gig will be ace. Funnily enough, only the other day I was trying to find a copy of his OST for Richard Stanley's 'Hardware'. They're like hen's teeth but am currently watching one on Ebay! Aberystwyth is lovely. My father-in-law lives there so always nice to visit.

What I'm seeing on here is overwhelming condemnation; despair at the violence of US politics; alarm at where this might go; & calls for equal horror at other shootings.
Donโt look here, look for small boats and refugees, get angry at desperate poor people not rich entitled twats who try and play you for fools.. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

In 1987, Treguard the Dungeon Master welcomed the first team of adventurers to his blue screen labyrinth. Losers didnโt just fail, they 'died': blades, spikes, and bottomless pits abounded. 07.09.2025 16:18 โ ๐ 352 ๐ 105 ๐ฌ 20 ๐ 24Totally. Hypocrisy matters across the political spectrum. And while it's more often the case that hypocrisy occurs on the right of politics, it isn't a balancing exercise. 100 hypocritical acts of a party we do not support does not (and must not) outweigh 1 hypocritical act of the party we do.

The book's even worse, I think. Though I think that's down to the accurate portrayal of acute mental illness, a real rarity in such texts...
Ah, maaaan! This is what I'm currently reading; nearly finished it, in fact.
Aiming to rewatch this after I finish the book, as I saw it when it was released at the Stoke Film Theatre, Stoke being my hometown ๐ค
Superb scene from Stephen Frearsโ The Hit with mob assassin John Hurt perplexed by supergrass Terence Stampโs seemingly zen-like acceptance of his impending death at his hands.
Obviously takes on a whole other meaning today. youtu.be/Tl7ejODI2xM?...
