The children know not to go near them. They're largely harmless, but they are wild animals and need to be respected as such. They generally will just hop away if they think you're getting too close. It's fantastic to have them around. We also have koalas but they're not as visible as the kangaroos.

I stopped watching years ago for that reason.

My granddaughter goes to school close by. They have many kangaroos in the school playground, as well in parks around the area.
