Been a while, since I posted, so let me share with you a display my local pet store has set up for showing how nicely emersed aquarium plants can grow.

It has taken a while, but my white clouds have figured out how their food stuck to the glass works and they‘re getting excited for it now 😄

A brightly lit aquarium in front of the wall of a dark room. The light from the lamp makes this cone of light appear around the tank in a green-tinted light. Kind of like a lone street lamp during the city at night. It makes the dark room appear less scary, yet still a bit misterious because of the unusual color of the light.

My smaller 30L tank sitting on top of the commode in my bedroom in the dark. The open top and the light makes it disperse much more than in the other tank, which has a lid. It still creates a pleasant warm light from the aquarium that lights part of the room and is a nice contrast to the dark parts that are not illuminated by the lamp or block out some light sitting in front of one of the tank‘s sides.

Today I came home kind of late into a dark apartment only lit by the lights of my aquariums. I really enjoy the atmosphere it created in my room and now you get to enjoy it, too!

Germany and since I joined Bluesky roughly 9 months ago. Though I‘ve been following people on YouTube who frequently show some of your posts like Ukraine Matters and Jake Broe.

The before-maintenance picture of my aquarium. The surface is almost completely covered by floating plants, many stems of my Ludwigia have grown out of the water and the left part of the tank is very dark from floating plants and big leaves from Java ferns.

The After-maintenance picture of my aquarium. About 80% of the floating plants have been removed, the Ludwigia has been trimmed and replanted in the back so now only a few red stems Peek out of the Java ferns. The left side is also mich brighter again and there is more space for my white cloud mountain minnows to swim.

Finally remembered to take before and after pictures for a maintenance session. So, here you go :D
All of the Ludwigia stems have been replanted, they‘re just not visible from this perspective.

Been feeling quite sick the past few days but I managed to go for a walk yesterday. So here is a video of me feeding a local squirrel in the park.
Not quite my usual Aquarium stuff but I‘ll be back to that, soon.

Got to do a big maintenance session on the 180L for the first time in a while. I keep forgetting to take „before“ pictures to show the difference. Let‘s just say I filled a 5L bucket to the brim with trimmings.

Oh my, it‘s so adorable!

This and the other two pictures show a kuhli loach head leaking through some plants.

I have decided it’s time to appreciate kuhli loaches once again. Now that the front of my tank is no longer a vast jungle, they‘ve been wiggling through the Bucephalandra thicket more again.

Surprising that there is a picture of it in which it doesn‘t spew tons of smoke

Did a big trimming and maintenance session on the 72L. Removed some of the Helianthium bolivianum in the front because it got too large (see my hand for comparison). Replaced it with Eleocharis acicularis, which will hopefully be better.

Bit of a deviation from my usual posts but I was recently at a Guns N‘ Roses concert and I was very happy to see them supporting #Ukraine 🇺🇦

This little guy or gal has a favorite hangout/hiding spot which is also kept quite clean. It‘s nice to see your fish develop some habits.
