We are doing our best! Fur babies are still at joeys moms place we’re at his place in the city because I needed to check my place and he has to be in office today. I go back to work tomorrow so we’ll see. Still no water to the entire building. Going on day 4. :(

I really don’t think their target era is 1950s anymore. I really think it’s the 19th century. They want to be Rockefellers and Carnegies while the rest of us suffer the extreme conditions of the Industrial Revolution.

I hate 2025. We’re evacuating my apt. There’s 3 ft of water in the basement and it’s touching electrical boxes. Water is off and electric’s been on and off all day. They keep telling us there’s no threat of fire and I’m like bro… heading down with Binx and Daisy to my partners mom’s house 🥲

Worse bc I had a very specific way of sleeping on the mattress to make it work. But I can’t bc of the pain in my arms. So I’m severely sleep deprived rn and still in pain and in pain in places I shouldn’t be 😅

A couple ppl convinced me back in 22 I needed memory foam. I think I have a nectar? My problem is I’m dense. Like I do not float in water well dense so the memory foam doesn’t support my body like it claims, I just sink, end up in these weird divets. It’s been worse since being inpatient last week.

The biggest lie in my own personal world rn is that memory foam is a better sleep experience. It’s like sleeping in a gd midwestern pothole.

Excruciating rebound migraine, passing out, vomiting, and almost going back to the ED was not on my bingo card for yesterday. This has been such a shit year so far. Getting follow up labs drawn today. Wish me luck.

I was hospitalized this week because I didn’t listen to my body. Here’s the story.

When you forgot it was a holiday bc work kicked your ass last night and you just realize you can’t get your caffeinated treat to get yourself through another trainwreck shift. (I just know it’s going to be another bad shift.) 🥲

I’m not above doing education in my free time, honestly I have bought a lot of my own reading materials, text books, etc. I do a lot of journal reading in my free time but that email… what a slap in the face.

And I absolutely cannot stand that women’s and children’s health gets shoved to the side almost always bc we don’t make the hospitals money. So now we’re in this vicious cycle of we don’t get appropriately paid or compensated for the work we do, and we still put pts at risk bc of staffing.

I know the general consensus is that nurses make bank, and we’re typically mean girls, but we also get dropped on a lot. My management team is so fixated on their nurse to patient ratio which puts us and the patients at danger. (our nicu has been so high acuity as of late it’s putting pts at risk.)

I’ve been very frustrated with work as of late. Between management forcing me to do my ECMO orientation on my own hours, begging for help with zero incentives (“don’t let your team down!”), and now this? I love learning but not like this. Cost of Living is balls. Nobody is going to do this.

Scheduler: Can you come off Wed next week and work tues?
Me: I’ll come off thurs and work tues.
S: We can’t do that.
M: Nope. Not my problem you can’t balance the schedule.

I hate being pushed around. Like y’all keep screwing me with these holidays. 🙄

That seasonal depression is hitting hard this year.

I’m not ready for the next pandemic. I still have some unresolved sh*t I’m working through in therapy from 2020. (Context: I was a bedside RN in adult icu. no I’m not soft and yes I saw some sh*t) I’m just anticipating we will end up in another pandemic within the next 4 years. 😞

I was shaking a lab tube this morning after I drew blood from my patient. I think I accidentally tweaked a muscle in my forearm. 🥲

I’m officially old.

I sleep during the day because I work 12 hour overnights. I should be asleep right now but this jerk made some distressing meows that jolted me out of sleep. He’s fine. He’s just ready for his wet food 🤦‍♀️
