Definitely disagree! Leaving aside that AirBnB specifically is a criminal enterprise, as @adammongrain.bsky.social says the economics of it are that unrestricted STR is terrible for housing supply, specifically where demand is highest (and affordability is worst). Let's talk again at 7% vacancy 😀

Also if I recall correctly the Plateau is 3 stories max just about everywhere. The valiant defense of Milton-Parc against highrise housing is deeply embedded in local lore.

Perhaps it's changed since I lived there but Projet Montréal on the Plateau has always been an uneasy coalition between pro-housing renters and left-NIMBY historical preservationist owners.
