After you read about Bernie read about Max Mosley who became FIA President in 1993. He helped Bernie take F1 to the world and made the drivers rich and owners richer. At one time Michael Schumacher who drove for Ferrari was the highest paid athlete in the world.

For those who are new to F1 if you want to understand how it got to its present format check out Wikipedia “Bernie Ecclestone”. The story of a failed race driver who commercialized F1 and made himself a billionaire. He started the concept of “Commercial Rights Holder” - the owner of F1.

I have been following F1 since 1995. For years I went to the race in Montreal. Always wanted to do Monaco but the cost was crazy- in early 2000 found an as for a standing only spot on someone’s balcony - cost $1,700 US$. I passed
