Yeah I agree. The signings of Elanga and Ramsey and the way we sat into a 4-5-1 makes me think we planned to counter attack more. Wissa being injured and signing Nick seemed to force a change. It's never felt right.

It's very hard to fix something like that mid season. Especially with the amount of games. Ending up in the CL playoffs was a disaster. Having the midweeks off would have been handy.

Absolutely. There seemed to be some type of plan to play on the counter this season. Both Elanga and Ramsey fit that profile but Woltemade doesn't. The window ended with disruption and a weird squad balance. Some joined up thinking and strategy is required this summer.

That's a very valid way to look at it. Overachieving in recent seasons and overall but this season "could" be below expectations. He deserves to finish the season and be backed in the summer.
