Me too mate. By far the best we've had since Robson.

A post about our managers, made you think to reply with that?
Guess someone canβt handle their Saturday beers.
Edward John Frank Howe!
He just gets it, doesnβt he?!

Nick Pope kicks the ball like he has stumps instead of feet.

Mate, I hope heβs right. π
Iβd love for us to really dig our heels in and we try and get some form of productivity out of him this season, although that seems very unlikely. If so, he goes abroad next season.
Alternatively, we ensure we get our asking price and not a penny less.
As a northern football writer working at a major newspaper, I'd hope some of the info he puts out would be correct.
He also said James Trafford was pretty much done about 10 minutes before it was announced he was actually going to City.
I just find he's normally wide of the mark quite often.
I'd feel much more confident about this, if it had come from anyone other than Luke Edwards.
I said last month that I can't see the Saudis wanting to be pushed around and strong armed. If it is true, I'm really glad we're digging our heels in.
Aye exactly.
Often drops deep when heβs not getting the ball either, which means when we get the ball goes into the box, heβs not always there.
Class seeing him chase everything but I couldnβt see him lasting 90 minutes in an actual game either.
Couldnβt agree more, he needs consistent minutes this season.

To be fair, I thought it was soft but he swung his leg towards the ball and completely missed.
Eventful first half for Targett. Gave the ball away for their goal, scored himself & then gave away a pen.

Signing two strikers hoping Isak sorts himself out won't happen. If we bring in Samu/Wissa, heβs on the first flight to Liverpool.
Seems promising compared to right now but it's still worrying paying a huge fee for a player with one standout season in a top division. Lets see what happens eh.
The squads are split in two to play across the two days.
08.08.2025 18:03 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We didn't have European football + got a winter WC break that season, which certainly helped too.
Our squadβs paper thin and weβre heading into a likely 50+ game season with two strikers who havenβt signed or played in our system. I don't think anyones feeling optimistic.
Fully aware of that but we canβt bin next season off to develop promising players.
Still leaning towards trying to keep him if possible, although it could be a shit show.
Samuβs fee would be huge + Iβm not confident weβd get good value for Isak.
Buying a Jackson a very last resort for me.
He certainly has a high ceiling and is definitely one for the future, but I just donβt see this as an Isak replacement in the short term. Especially given the fee it would take.
He may do it long term, but bedding in a striker during a Champions League season wouldnβt be easy either.

After seven-and-a-half years on Tyneside, Martin DΓΊbravka has left the club, joining Burnley on a permanent transfer.
Thank you for everything, Martin. We wish you the very best of luck for the future π€π€
Melissa Reddy, the Liverpool fan and mouthpiece that wrote a book on Klopp and was rumoured to be seeing Sadio Mane. It wouldn't be like her to have a biased agenda.
Even if all of that was true, they've not come close to the asking price for Isak. So frankly it means nowt.
Blame is with the club this window and although PSR isn't the main issue, it's certainly a factor that isn't going away.
Until changes are made, we'll continue to have this conversation as fans every new PSR deadline and transfer window.
Imagine if we finished 15th, we'd be no where close to bidding Β£80M on Sesko. That's before we even look at wages and what we can afford to pay. It isn't anywhere close to teams like Man Utd.
Also, look at our last 3 transfer windows and the business we've been able to do or lack of, due to PSR.
We don't have a CEO or sporting director, in our first window since 2023, without strict limits on spending. Thats on us as a club.
All that doesn't take away from the fact the rules are broken, teams like Man Utd, who had a dreadful season can still complete financially, despite huge debts.
I didn't say above PSR is the reason for our poor window or use it as an excuse.
I said it's limiting teams progressing that want to, and it's continuing to benefit the "Big 6". Which it certainly is.
This summerβs problems predominately come from a lack of direction and leadership at the top.
Seen someone on here the other day say we should be in for Dele Alli.
βEddie will get him playing againβ
Heβs a great coach but the way some of our fans think he can just turn water into wine, is actually mental.
Couldn't agree more. It needs to be a fair and regulated properly.
The current rules are a mess and teams will forever find a way around them. Look at Chelsea, selling hotels, carparks & their women's team to themselves, all in the name of PSR.
I personally like that we have rules. You canβt have a total free for all where clubs just buy whoever they want, and are financially reckless, but there has to be room for clubs to grow and progress at a faster rate.
All of that, without giving a boost up to the "Big 6".
Man Utd are about to spend another 80M on Sesko, but haven't got any European Football & felt the need to sack 250+ staff less than 3 months ago.
But Newcastle & Villa are limited by FFP as we wish to progress. π€¦πΌββοΈ
Eddie Howe after Newcastle United miss out on each of their transfer targets, but stops Alexander Isak going to Liverpool.

If anyone needs me, I'll be watching Mad Men, waiting for all this to blow over.

Clubs may just be put of with his asking price or looking to get cheaper options. Especially when a load of CB's are out of contract next year.
I'd personally piggy back MGW up to NCL, to get him from Forest. It's just never happening now he's signed a new deal.
