05.08.2025 17:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0One of Old Louisville's biggest advantages as a neighborhood is it's housing density, but we have not built much in decades. If only there was some land nearby that has sat empty for years. It would be even better if some of these lots were owned by housing developers ๐ค๐ค๐ค
05.08.2025 16:05 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0it's so hard to believe that 20 years ago we were so close to light rail actually being a serious proposition.
maybe that $500k to kidpa will result in a report about the feasibility of a 35 mph train to Chicago by 2050.
i cannot emphasize enough that the level of analysis people bring to public discourse on โwhy are women universally worse at [some sport] than menโ is on the exact same level as โwomens heads are smaller so thats why they cant do math or think criticallyโ

30.07.2025 14:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's easy to be a hater in 2025 but it's frustrating when shit like this happens in a city that just cut funding to its already unacceptably-bad public transit. 30.07.2025 14:03 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Why does every tourism board seem to think that chintzy overpriced improvements like this will make any impact. People choose to visit cities that people want to live in! Make cities more livable and more people will want to visit!

Chemicals stored in the break room fridge, a coworker who only ate Chickfila, God knows what cancer exposure risks...
Aside from the racism, sexism, homophobia, low pay, and bad management, this was the most entertaining job I ever had.
Once, I discovered the flammable chemicals storage had 3 inches of an unknown liquid in the bottom of it, for who knows how long.
Eventually, the plug just fell off, no air or water coming out. Okay, some sort of inner plug arrangement? He got down to look just in time to see the giant slug of rust-and-biofilm ooze its way through, and got a high pressure blast of fetid rust water, along with everything else in that closet.

The shop manager emptied it to 40 psi and started pulling the drain plug, but it didn't start leaking, so he just kept going.
