My superb owl takes:

1) There’s a great sport somewhere within football, but it’s ruined by truly atrocious game flow and rampant over-officiating.

2) The entirety of any NFL game feels like watching the last two minutes of any NBA game.

3) I hope it’s done before 10:30pm EST.

I’ve been legitimately shocked at what I’m reading.

It would be difficult for me to get fired… but implementing sweeping changes directly to a production environment with no planning, testing, or security analysis might be enough to do the trick. And that seems to be all these dorks are doing.

As someone who works behind the scenes with government systems — and has seen first hand how fragile they can be — I don’t think the Muskrats even comprehend how much damage seemingly innocuous changes can have.

…And that’s putting aside their already dubious intentions.

I’m really excited for the Super Bowl. It means that horrible Kick of Destiny commercial will finally stop assaulting me.

I knew the Wizards were bad, but I’m actually watching them tonight (because they’re playing the Raps), and… yikes.

Let’s not be saying things about the IFL rap song that we can’t take back now…

Look, I’m not a guy who truly understands the nuances of AI. I just know that every time I’ve knowingly interacted with it, the experience has been dreadful.

I absolutely hope we’re watching the bubble burst.

The map in the background of that image looks an awful lot like the western shore of Lake Michigan… if that helps solve the riddle.

(Also fits with my narrative that there is minimal desire from the PLL to come back to Canada.)

For Boushy’s dunk, they ended up showing a replay from in front of the net where you could see the actual shot clock at zero before the ball was out of his stick (even though the shot clock overlay still showed 1).

Weird discrepancy between angles, but it was the right call.

I’ve been to a lot of sporting events in a lot of different places.

Still not sure there’s an experience where the fans are as engaged from opening whistle to final buzzer as Bandits games.

(And that’s from someone who is never cheering for the Bandits when I’m in the building.)

That’s definitely not the show which you’ll: 1) Be able to ignore and go to bed, and 2) Want to watch right before bed.

It doesn’t even feel like the UFC is promoting them anymore either. Didn’t see anything for this one.

It’s all just content for fulfilling their contract at this point.

I legitimately forgot about UFC tonight. Only watched from the 2nd round of the main event til the finish.

Didn’t hate only watching that little. Seems like there was some wacky stuff earlier on the card I should catch up on though.

A bit different than the desert…

I find it hard to believe anyone is interested in watching this shit.

I remember watching Formiga/Pantoja be such an important fight like 15 years ago that it got a Shooto Brazil card streamed on HDNet.

What a wild place the flyweight division was from 2010-2012.

Very cool that Pantoja managed to outlast everyone, make it to the top, and is still here in 2024.

I wouldn’t wish this start to the Rock season on my worst enemy.

I know they generated way fewer shots than normal, but do you make anything of the Rock’s shooting struggles particularly against “butterfly” style goalies like Higgy and Hartley when they’ve faced him recently? Shot selection/placement issue?
