We're backing Bristol's Bus Drivers
First Group made £204.3m in profit last year. Shareholder dividends were up by 45%. Yet, bus drivers have been forced to take industrial action to get the pay rise they deserve.
The main sticking point in negotiations is First Group’s refusal to back date their drivers’ pay rise in full. Backdating it would cost around 0.15% of First Groups’s yearly profits. Doing so is clearly affordable and reasonable.
Without our bus drivers, Bristol would grind to a halt.
These strikes are causing severe disruption to Bristol’s workers. Senior management need to get back to the negotiating table with Unite and give our bus drivers the wages they have earned.
🤝 Pay Bristol’s bus drivers what they deserve

'Frustration' as city is slowest in England for SEND assessments
One mum said the slow assessments for support were making children regress.
🚸 Prior to the 2024 local elections, 48.5% of EHCPs were completed on time
📉 After a year of the Greens running Bristol City Council, this month’s figure has dropped to 3% - and was even as low as 1% this February

Labour is massively expanding Free School Meals to half a million more children - including thousands here in Bristol - putting £500 back in parents’ pockets. That’s the Labour difference.

📢 The public have spoken. 71% of Bristolians want black bin collections to remain fortnightly

Save Bristol's Libraries
Libraries provide a crucial service to the city, not least for the worst-off. Our valued community spaces need to be protected and invested in.
Libraries need more investment, not less.

It has been a huge campaign - grateful to more than 12,000 people that signed the petition and backed us to get this unworkable proposal binned
They now say they won’t make the move “at this time”. That’s not enough, they need to rule it out for good 🗑
