Don't make her life be about the DNA debacle. She died far too young, but she was a promising scientist in her own right, a mentor and scientific author.

Not for Watson or Crick, but for her legacy.

First day of school today, it went pretty well, as first days go. My new crop of high schoolers seems pretty good. I showed them this picture of my kitty Quint in the shark bed - there were a handful of students in each class who have seen Jaws, and I think they appreciated it. Healing thoughts!

This is my argument against when it is being shown in theaters for the 50th anniversary. 8/29-9/4?!? Sir/Madam, Jaws is a 4th of July movie!! (Will I see it in the theater? Absolutely. But still…)

Ok #CatSky, let me tell you why this is the greatest photo I’ll ever take. I love cats, and sharks. We brought three of our cats (littermates) inside, and I named them: two tiger striped sisters, and a black and white brother. They’re named after the three main characters in Jaws - this is Quint.

Genetics is my favorite unit, & on day 1 after intro notes, we do a Human Traits Lab. We examine 9 different traits (including an optional PTC paper one), and students use those to increase their familiarity with the basic terms just introduced in the notes - dominant, recessive; geno/phenotype.. 👍
