The spite is going to be working for me. I'm allergic to cheering for Saskatchewan, and "BC Sucks" is thoroughly ingrained in me from the 1980's.

I was always skeptical about Grey Cup as an event, but going to Regina in 2022 convinced me that it's a great weekend. The guys that I share tickets with are constantly talking about travelling to the Grey Cup again. They went to BC last year, but I couldn't.

This is the part that I don't get. I'm a Bomber season ticket holder and committed to a 3-year season ticket package to get a discount on my Grey Cup ticket ($299 instead of $399).

It's a big event. I want to attend. I don't understand other STH dumping tickets.

I don't see what the big deal is with this at all. This is how the Westminster system works and worked in Canada for decades, and the Constitutional clearly states a maximum 5 year term. Fixed election dates are an Americanism that is incompatible with Westminster parliamentary democracy.

More interestingly is the National Semifinals rotate opponents and hosting each year. This year is Ontario @ Canada West and Atlantic @ Quebec.

I understand what you're saying, but that's a bit misleading as the U Sports football playoffs are organized by conference until the National Semifinals. The other three conferences are so much smaller (ATL 5 teams, Canada West 6 teams, QC 6 teams) so 4 spots make sense for them. Ontario is 7 of 11.

That would require the Democrats to fucking do something.

Canada shouldn't be the most effective opposition in the US.

And I think you underestimate anti-German sentiment in Europe post-war. In the run-up to reunification in 1990 there was plenty of misgivings in Europe about it, and that's 45 years post-war.

Let's say it depends on how it goes down. If it's a 4 year respite provided by some miracle at the ballot box, it probably doesn't change anything because the lunatic threat is still there.

Black and white one is a significantly earlier vintage as the race track at Polo Park is still visible. The track closed in 1956 and the mall didn't open until 1959.

Always get a kick out of looking at old pictures of familiar areas. Especially if they've changed drastically over time.

I would never recommend coming to Manitoba in winter, but Winnipeg is gorgeous in the summer and a great place to visit.

Polar bears at the Zoo, warm summer evenings for baseball or football, world-class cottage country 60-120 minutes away, and Folklorama in August. Plus museums and an arts scene.
