My current primary game rotation: Gears of War Reloaded, Oblivion Remaster, Madden.

Muscle memory is a crazy thing. Playing Gears of War Reloaded, basically the game that made me fall for online gaming. It’s been twenty years. Yet the same decisions I made when I was 15. The same corners to check, same cover to use, same walls to bounce off of — still coded in my hands. How cool.

Tried Xbox Cloud Gaming on my IPhone SE. I’ve always been skeptical of cloud gaming but what a great first time experience. The SE screen is a bit small but once I purchase a controller clip and get away from the touch controls I think it’s going to be amazing.

I spend time in and out of Xbox GamePass, choosing to carry the service or canceling for months here or there on a whim. I know I’m not breaking any news, but the variety of games I play and the fun I have online both greatly increase when I’m subscribed. I would encourage all consumers to try it.

Yeah the randomly generated dungeons. At the time, I was foolishly preoccupied with this idea that I was going to find a game that I could play “forever” ha. I have a much different view now, but I still love the game.

I restarted Oblivion for the first time since I played it on the 360 17 years ago. It’s one of my favorite games so I knew it would be a joy to play again, but man, I did not expect it to capture me this deeply again. There is just so much heart, character and originality every step of the way.

WOW! What a memory.

I’ve finished a lot of games this year; having played Destiny almost exclusively for the last nine, it’s been fun branching out (still love Destiny). One observation: None of the memorable moments I’ve had have been tied to graphics, frame rate or lack of loading screens. Great games transcend tech.

Starfield is awesome.
